An Army jawan died and a few others fell ill on Saturday during a supervised training activity at Mamun military station near Pathankot in Punjab because of “severe” weather conditions.
Senior Army officials informed that the affected jawans have been admitted to the military hospital in Pathankot and being treated.
The training — organized, supervised and monitored under 9 Corps of Indian Army — was taking place in hot and humid conditions. The intense training got to some of the jawans, who collapsed.
