Koraput: One person died and three others were critically injured in a lightning strike in Salapguda village under Narayanpatna police limits of Odisha’s Koraput district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Shiba Mandi.
According to sources, the incident took place between 9-10 am. Few farmers were working in the maize fields of Salapguda village when it started raining heavily and thunder rumbled.
Shiba and the three injured persons who were also with them ran to a hut nearby. They were taking shelter there when lightning struck killing Shiba on the spot and critically injuring the other three.
The three injured have been admitted to Narayanpatna Community Health Centre (CHC). They are from the same family, sources said.
