Bhubaneswar: A man was killed and three others sustained critical injuries after a truck was hit by another heavy vehicle in Balugaon area of Odisha’s Khurda district on Monday.
According to reports, the mishap took place near Barkul under the jurisdiction of Balugaon police station when one truck rammed into a static heavy vehicle from the rear in the morning.
The deceased has been identified as Bruhaspati Mohanty. The injured persons have been admitted to a local hospital.
Police reached the spot and seized the body for postmortem. Both the vehicles involved in the accident were also seized. A case has been registered in this connection.
In another road incident, four people were injured, one of them critically, after a car in which they were travelling collided with a truck on National Highway No 20 near Barigan under Ghashipura police station in Keonjhar district.
All the injured passengers in the car have been shifted to Cuttack for treatment.
The injured belong to a family from Jagannathpur area of Banki in Cuttack district. They were proceeding to Ghatagaon for darshan of Goddess Tarini when the mishap took place.
