Bhubaneswar: The first phase list of 99 candidates for Assembly elections in Odisha, announced by the central election committee of the BJP in New Delhi on Thursday night, has 10 women candidates.
They are Radharani Panda-Brajarajnagar, Kusum Tete-Sundargarh, Babita Mallick-Binjharpur (SC), Ritarani Bagarti-Khariar, Gouri Majhi- Nabarangpur (ST), Archana Pradhan- G. Udayagiri (ST), Pravati Parida- Nimapara, Surama Padhy- Ranpur, Irani Roy-Nayagarh and Bharati Behera- Khallikote (SC).
Of the 10 women candidates, seven will be contesting the polls for the first time. They are Kusum Tete, Ritarani Bagarti, Babita Mallick, Gouri Majhi, Archana Pradhan, Irani Roy and Bharati Behera.
