Bhubaneswar: A 24×7 Control Room has been set up at BMC-ICOMC tower at Satya Nagar in Odisha capital to help relatives looking for survivors of the June 2 triple train accident.

Help desks have also been set up at entry points– Cuttack Railway Station, Cuttack Bus Stand, SCB Hospital, Bhubaneswar Railway Station, Baramunda Bus Stand and Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar.
Meanwhile, 100 bodies of passengers, who died in the 3-way crash in Odisha’s Balasore district on June 2, were brought to the AIIMS-Bhubaneswar in 50 ambulances this morning. They will be kept in the mortuary of the premier medical institute, sources said.

With train communication snapped to Bhadrak and Balasore due to the accident, the Odisha government had decided to bring about 160 bodies to Bhubaneswar to make it easier of the bereaved families to claim them. “The unidentified bodies will be preserved for 42 hours. If no one will claim the bodies, we can dispose of those as per medical procedures,” Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena had said.
About 55 bodies have been identified and those were handed over to the family members after autopsy, the sources added.
Meanwhile, the list of deceased and the injured undergoing treatment at various hospitals have been uploaded on three websites – srcodisha.nic.in, bmc.gov.in and osdma.org to facilitate identification.
