Puri: Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a sand sculpture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with 100 radios to celebrate 100 episodes of “Mann ki Baat” at Odisha’s Puri beach.
The renowned artist has created the 8-ft high sand art to mark the occasion by using around seven tonnes of sand.
Sudarsan also created the sculpture of the Prime Minister with 100 sand radios. He was assisted by the students from his sand art school to complete the sculpture.
“On April 30, please do tune in to the 100th edition of the most popular #MannKiBaat program of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji. I have created 100 sand radios to celebrate and welcome the memorable episode of Mann Ki Baat in my SandArt at Puri beach, Odisha,” Sudarsan said in a tweet.
Stating that he had earlier created a few sand sculptures on ‘Mann ki Baat’ on different occasions, the artist said sand sculpture on radio was also created on the occasion of World Radio Day.
Modi’s flagship radio address, which aired for the first time on October 3, 2014, will complete 100 episodes on Sunday.
It may be noted here that Sudarsan has participated in more than 60 international sand art competitions and festivals around the world and won many prizes for our country.
The artist, a Padma awardee, has been making efforts to create awareness on different social issues through his sand art. His sand arts are appreciated by the UN, WHO and UN Environment and other organisations.
