Bhubaneswar: More than 10,000 people from different walks of life gathered at Janata Maidan here on Wednesday morning and performed yoga to mark the third International Yoga Day.
Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who attended the grand event as chief guest, highlighted the importance of practising yoga to reduce tension and stress in the daily life.
Organised jointly by IOCL, HPCL, ONGC, GAIL India and Nehru Yuva Kendra, the event was also graced by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) joint general secretary V Bhaigaih Ji.
The participants followed the instructions of 18 yoga trainers from different spiritual organizations. Students from different schools and colleges, Nehru Yuva Kendra Society representatives and NCC cadets actively participated in the event.
