Khurda: Eleven more police personnel in the district have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the Khurda administration informed on Friday
These police personnel were posted in police stations and outposts at Banpur and Balugaon.
“Temporary arrangments are being made to ensure that enforcement of COVID-19 norms and law and order in these areas,” the administration added.
Khurda SP Ajay Pratap Swain said that some personnel from Khurda town and Balugaon had earlier tested positive for the virus. “These police stations and outposts in Banpur and Balugaon are being sanitised and the staffers asked to undergo home quarantine,” he added.
Meanwhile, the SP office was reopened on Friday after 72 hours. It was closed for sanitisation after two staffers tested positive for COVID-19.
Besides Khurda, 150 personnel in Ganjam and 38 in Sundargarh have been infected.
