Bhubaneswar: The services in the Capital Hospital, here, were affected as COVID infection spread to more of its employees including doctors and para medical staff on Wednesday.
Speaking to media persons, Laxmidhar Sahoo, director, Capital Hospital, said around 130 employees of the hospital have tested positive for COVID. The infected persons include 40 doctors, 30 nurses, 40 technicians and 10-15 pharmacists, he added.
Stating that the services in the premier hospital of the capital city have been severely affected due to rising COVID cases among the employees, Sahoo said the OPD is now functioning for a limited period from 8 am to 1 pm.
All the staff on duty and the patients have been advised to take the preventive measures to prevent the spread of virus, hospital sources said. If necessary, the hospital will start telemedicine services to take care of the patients, they added.
Last week, more than 30 employees including doctors and para medical staff of the hospital had tested positive for COVID.
