Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police have cracked the whip on the people in the Odisha capital for loitering without valid pass during the COVID-19 lockdown.
In a tweet, Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi said that 493 vehicles were seized on Wednesday under the cognizable case during lockdown enforcement.
“The police are forced to take action against these unrelenting people for openly flouting the lockdown guidelines, which is a matter of surprise and concern,” he said.
More than 400 vehicles were seized on March 30 and 446 vehicles on March 31 under Odisha COVID-19 Regulation, 2020, and Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), he added.
