Kamakhyanagar/Jaleswar: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped and sold to a brothel in Kolkata by two persons on the pretext of arranging a job for her.
According to sources, Ajay Jena and Ajay Hembram took the girl to Kolkata on July 22 after convincing her mother that she would get a job there.
After taking her to Kolkata, the duo allegedly raped her for several days in a building at Kolkata and later sold her to a brothel.
However, the survivor managed to escape from the place and reached her village 10 days ago. She narrated the entire incident before her mother, following which a complaint was lodged with the police on Monday.
In another incident that took place in Balasore district, a minor girl was gangraped by five persons at Kabata Ghati village.
Following a complaint lodged at Raibania police station on Monday by her family members, cops arrested three persons, identified as Mithun Hansda, Paran Soren and Kadu Murmu in connection with the case. Two others, Ajaya Hansda and Ganesh Bidhani, are on the run.
In another incident, an anganwadi worker was allegedly gangraped by three miscreants at Gondia area in Dhenkanal district on Monday night.
The lady was returning to her village with her brother on a motorcycle after attending a meeting last night when three youths came on a car and intercepted them. The miscreants later thrashed the victim’s brother severely and abducted her.
They took her to a nearby farmhouse and gangraped her.
On being informed about the abduction, police conducted raids at different places near the village and managed to rescue her from the farmhouse this morning.
The trio, identified as Laxmidhar Biswal (38), Antaryami Das (30) and Gobinda Pradhan (32), was later arrested and the car used in the crime seized by cops.
