Kendrapada: As many as 16 students were injured after lightning struck an Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya (OAV) in Kendrapada district on Saturday.
As per reports, as the last period of the students of the OAV at Kudanagari under Garadpur block of the district was going on, lightning struck with a loud sound of thunder. Some students of Class VI lost consciousness apparently due to thunderclap.
The teachers and other staff of the school rushed the unconscious students to the Commuity Health Centre at Patkura. Of 16 students who complained of head reeling and nausea, 14 are boys and two girls.
Two of them, who were severely injured, have been identified as Amrita Panda and Adyasha Laxmi Samal. They were shifted from the CHC to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) for better treatment.
