Bhubaneswar: A 17-year-old boy from Jharpada in Odisha capital went missing in Puri canal near Ranga Bazaar Alarpur under Balianta police limits in Odisha’s Khurda district.
According to sources, six students, including two girls, reached the spot in the afternoon (1 pm and 2 pm) on Tuesday. One among them got swept away while taking bath in the canal. A boy dived into the canal to save him but failed.
On being informed, fire fighters launched a search operation, which was resumed this morning and the boy, identified as Jaydev Prasad, is yet to be traced.
