New York: This is a Hollywood fairytale for the ages.
Almost 18 years after calling off their wedding, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have got engaged once again and are planning to get married, finally.
The 52-year-old Lopez, a singer, actress and dancer, teased the “exciting and special” announcement on her Facebook and Instagram page, after which she shared an email with those in her inner circle.
Lopez then shared a message for fans on her website which included a clip of her admiring a huge, green diamond on her ring finger.
She had written about the importance of green colour in her life in a newsletter some years ago.
“I always say the colour green is my lucky colour. I’ve realized there are many moments in my life where amazing things happened when I was wearing green,” she wrote.
JLo, as she is lovingly called by her fans, and the 49-year-old Affleck first started dating after working in the movie ‘Gigli’, which was released in 2003. They got engaged in November 2002, but broke up in early 2004.
While Lopez got married to singer Marc Anthony in June 2004, and had twins Max and Emme in 2008, Affleck married actress Jennifer Garner in 2005 and had three children together.
Affleck, who divorced Garner in 2018, reconciled with Lopez in May 2021 following the pop star’s split with Alex Rodriguez.
