Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police returned 194 stolen and missing mobile phones to their rightful owners in Bhubaneswar.
Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi and Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh handed over the recovered cellphones to the owners at a mobile phone return mela organised at the Commissionerate.
The stolen and missing cellphones were recovered in joint operation by POPD, Team-60 and OCPO. Of these mobile phones, 100 were recovered by OCPO and 30 by Sahidnagar police station. The handsets were returned to the owners after confirming the ownership from the document produced by them.
It may be noted that the Commissionerate Police had recovered 1,434 missing cellphones in 2022 and returned 1,250 of those to the owners. Similarly, total 601 mobile phones have been recovered and 552 of those returned to the owners so far this year.
