Mumbai: Mumbai Police have arrested two persons for trying to gatecrash the high-profile wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
One of the accused who tried to enter the wedding event at Jio World Convention Centre without an invitation was 26-year-old Venkatesh Narasaiya, who identified himself as a YouTuber.
The other ‘daredevil’ was Lukam Mohammad Shafi Sheikh (28), who called himself a businessman.
Both travelled to Mumbai from Andhra Pradesh, hoping to join the wedding of the year.
Security officials stopped them on the basis of suspicion, and found out they were not invited.
“They were taken to BKC police station and handed over… a case of trespassing was registered against them,” an official said.
Separate cases have been filed against them.
Police have released the accused duo after serving them notice and taking legal action in both cases.
The three-day festivities, commencing with the traditional wedding, included a grand reception over the weekend.
The spectacular wedding was hosted by Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest man, and attended by global celebrities, business magnates and political figures.
