Bhubaneswar: Two Bhubaneswar-bound flights were diverted to Kolkata on Wednesday as landing was not possible at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Odisha capital due to bad weather.
Giving this information, BPIA director Prasanna Pradhan said two flights coming from New Delhi and Mumbai were diverted to Kolkata on account of bad weather in Bhubaneswar this evening.
An Air India Express Flight from New Delhi was to land at Bhubaneswar at 5.15 pm, while an IndiGo flight from Mumbai was scheduled to arrive at 5.30 pm. Due to bad weather in Bhubaneswar, both the flights were diverted to Nataji Subhas Chandra International Airport, Kolkata.
Similarly, a helicopter coming from Jharsuguda had to return after being unable to make a landing at Bhubaneswar airport, he said.
