New Delhi: In view of the two-day strike called by National Convention of Workers, the Union Power ministry has written to states/UTs and electricity authorities asking them to ensure normal functioning of electricity supply during the 48-hour period.
The Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU) have called the nationwide bandh from 6 am on March 28 to 6 am on March 30.
The ministry advised all power utilities to take necessary measures to ensure round-the-clock normal functioning of the electricity Grid and availability of all plants, transmission lines and substations.
The Central government has advised states to adopt following other measures:
* Shutdown activities planned for March 28 and 29 may be rescheduled to suitable future dates
* Additional manpower may be deployed at all critical power stations to handle any emergency condition which may arise
* Control room executives should be on high alert and power supply to essential services like hospitals, defence infrastructure, railways should be ensured
* Healthiness of data and voice communication between the identified sub-stations/ power stations and their corresponding SLDC/RLDCs may be ensured
* All defence mechanism such as df/dt, Under Frequency Relay based Load shedding (UFLS), SPS etc. shall be in service
* A 24×7 Control Room may be made functional for information dissemination and for handling any kind of contingency.
