Balangir: Police have arrested two persons from West Bengal for allegedly claiming themselves to be doctors without having medical qualification and carrying out treatment of patients in Odisha’s Balangir district.
As per reports, the police were informed that the two persons, identified as Suprakash Ray and Pabitra Biswas of West Bengal, were treating the patients and giving them medicines in two villages under Khaprakhol block of the district. It was also alleged that they were fake doctors.
On the direction of Balangir district SP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo, two police teams conducted raids on the villages under Khaprakhol police limits on Saturday. While one team caught Suprakash red-handed in Jhankarpali village, another ream nabbed Pabitra in Nandupala village, said Khaprakhol IIC Ramakant Sahoo.
The police also seized some medicines from the possession of the two arrested fake doctors, Sahoo said adding that they have been forwarded to the court. A case has been registered at Khaprakhol police station against the two persons and further investigation is on.
