New Delhi: In a proud moment for Odisha, SAI International School chairperson Silpi Sahoo and noted physician Prof CBK Mohanty were conferred with Capital Foundation Awards 2023 in New Delhi on Saturday.
Sahoo received Pratibha Patnaik Woman Achiever Award from Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud in the presence of Justice AK Patnaik, chairman of the Capital Foundation. The award recognises her profound contributions to transformative education and remarkable achievements in school administration and management. “I am profoundly humbled and honored to have received this prestigious award from the Capital Foundation Society. This recognition is for my entire SAI family of parents, teachers, and staff who have strived dedicatedly to provide the best quality education to children in Odisha. This motivates us even more to work relentlessly to empower children of Odisha to become leaders, who shape the future of India,” Sahoo said.
Prof Mohanty was conferred the Justice AK Patnaik award at the function. A Cuttack-based renowned specialist in Medicine and former Director of Medical Education and Training, he is at present the vice chancellor of Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar. “Two from Odisha have received the award. The credit goes to the state government because whatever I have achieved is for the positions bestowed on him,” he said.
Organised as part of the Capital Foundation Annual Lecture and Awards 2023, the award ceremony celebrated the 109th birth anniversary of Justice VR Krishna Iyer.
Last year, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was conferred the Lifetime Achievement award by the Delhi-based foundation in recognition of his distinctive and outstanding leadership.
