Puri: Two persons were injured while hot dal spilled over them while they were carrying ‘Mahaprasad’ inside Jagannath temple in Odisha’s Puri town on Saturday.
As per reports, the two persons, identified as Pupi Pradhan of Talajanga village under Chandanpur police station and Pradip Sahu of Brahmagiri in the district were carrying the ‘Mahaprasad’ (cooked offering) on a basket on their heads inside the temple. Accidentally, they slipped and fell down.
As a result, the hot dal fell all over their body scalding their skin. The officials of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) rushed them to the district headquarters hospital (DHH). Their condition was stable, the hospital sources said.
It may be noted that a woman devotee from Bhubanewar suffered burn injuries after her saree caught fire from a lamp inside the temple on January 29. She sustained burn injuries on left hand and right leg in the incident.
