Cuttack: Two persons were killed after being hit by a speeding truck on Kathajodi over bridge in Cuttack on Monday afternoon.
According to a shopkeeper, who was present at the accident spot, the incident took place when the duo, travelling on a motorcycle, was hit by a truck from behind. Following the accident, the victims fell on the road and died on the spot.
“A case has been registered and investigations are underway for identifying the vehicle and apprehending its driver, who fled the spot soon after the accident,” a police officer said.
In the wake of the mishap, vehicular traffic on the busy road was disrupted for over two hours.
