Cuttack: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has planned an initiative to invite the residents of the silver city to witness the inaugural celebration at Barabati Stadium scheduled to be held on January 11.
According to sources, around two lakh invitation cards have been printed and the distribution of the same has already begun.
“For the first time, Barabati Stadium is hosting the inaugural function of Men’s Hockey World Cup. We want to invite every individual personally to join the mega celebration across the city,” TOI reported CMC Mayor Subhash Singh as saying.
Superstar Salman Khan had participated in the second phase of the inaugural function of the 2018 edition of the quadrennial event at Barabati Stadium.
Singh added that the CMC officials, corporators, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, and members of different voluntary organisations have been roped in for the project and distributing invitations in all wards.
Besides, a live-streaming arrangement has been made in all 59 wards to watch the inaugural function due to the limited seating capacity in the stadium along with 16 hockey fan parks at different locations across Cuttack.
Notably, the special invitation cards have been printed with the details of the inaugural ceremony along with the logo of hockey World Cup, CMC and Odisha government.
