Malkangiri: In a heart wrenching incident, two minor girls, who went to Balimela Reservoir in Odisha’s Malkangiri district to take a bath, drowned and died in the reservoir.
According to reports, on Thursday afternoon four minor girls from Kenduguda village under Korukonda block had gone to the reservoir to take bath. Two of them drowned while taking bath.
On being informed, the villagers launched a search operation in the reservoir yesterday, but failed to find the girls. However, the bodies of the two girls were recovered when the search operation resumed on Friday morning.
The reservoir is in Nakamamudi Gram Panchayat of Korukonda block in Malkangiri.
