Jamnagar: Two more cases of COVID-positive patients infected with the Omicron variant were detected in Gujarat’s Jamnagar on Friday.
After no Omicron case was reported during the last two days, India’s tally now stands at 25, of whom three are from Gujarat.
The latest confirmed cases of coronavirus’ new variant are contacts of the NRI who was the first in the state to be detected with Omicron.
All three patients in Gujarat are being treated in hospital. They are asymptomatic and in stable condition, ANI quoted municipal commissioner Vijaykumar Kharadi as saying.
Omicron was first detected in southern Africa last month, while India’s first case was confirmed in Bengaluru.
