2 Schoolteachers Sent To Jail Over Fake Certificate In Odisha’s Bargarh

Bargarh: Two teachers in Odisha’s Bargarh district have found themselves in jail for allegedly submitting fake certificates to get job in government schools.

As per sources, the School and Mass Education Department initiated action against the two teachers after detecting fake certificates about their educational qualification.

Based on a complaint lodged against the two, police registered a case, while both the teachers surrendered before a court. They have been sent to jail in judicial custody.

The teachers have been identified as Tarani Sethy, an assistant teacher in a primary school in Ambabhona block and Mangal Biswal of Kandapala school. The two had been working in the government schools and drawing regular salary for the last several years by using fake certificates.

However, the department conducted a thorough probe after the fake certificate racket came to light in the state. During verification, it was found that the two teachers had submitted fake certificates. The B Ed certificates submitted by the two were found to be fake, sources said.

Thereafter, the Block Education Officer (BEO) of Ambabhona lodged a complaint with the police against the duo and case was registered against them. Both finally surrendered before the court after rejection of their anticipatory bail plea.
