Phulbani: Two jawans of Special Operations Group (SOG) were injured after an improvised explosive device (IED), suspected to be planted by Maoists, went off in Sirla forest under Tumudibandh police limits in Odisha’s Kandhamal district on Sunday.
“The explosion took place around 10 am during a combing operation. The two jawans sustained splinter injuries,” said Kandhamal SP Suvendu Patra.
He further said that the combing operation is on in the area for the last two days over suspicion of presence of Maoists.
