Sonepur: A major fire broke out in an e-bike showroom here at Birmaharajpur late on Wednesday night and gutted bikes worth lakhs of rupees. It is believed to have been caused by a short circuit.
Locals saw thick smoke billowing out of Satyanarayan Motors showroom, which was closed for the day, and informed the owner, who subsequently rushed to the spot.
However, by that time the fire had gutted at least 20 of the 21 bikes kept inside the showroom and he managed to take out only one bike to safety. The fire brigade took almost two hours to douse the fire.
