20-Km Stretch In Odisha’s Dhenkanal-Hindol Road Gets Safety Approval For Train Movement

Bhubaneswar: The newly laid broad gauge rail line in Odisha’s Dhenkanal-Hindol Road Railway Section has been granted permission for movement of the trains.

The permission was granted by The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) following inspection of the rail line in the last week of June.

The CRS inspected 40.93 km of rail line in Dhenkanal-Hindol Road Railway Section of Salegaon-Budhapank 3rd and 4th line railway project and 12.35 km in Dantewara-Kamlur Railway Section of Kottavalasa-Kirandul rail line project.

He inspected the safety parameters of the newly laid railway track, signaling system, bridges and declared the newly laid rail line stretches of both the projects fit for train operation.

A team of senior Railway officials of East Coast Railway (ECoR) assisted CRS during the inspection. With this, 86.4 km of 3rd and 4th line work has been commissioned out of 170 km in Salegaon-Budhapank rail line project.

Similarly, 302.55 km of doubling work has been commissioned out of 445.59 kms in Kottavalasa-Kirandul Rail Line project.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has been consistently monitoring the progress of infrastructure projects in these regions and the ministry has extended full support for early completion of the ongoing projects.

General Manager of ECoR Parmeshwar Funkwal, who has also been monitoring the projects, has instructed the officials to speed up the work and complete the remaining portion within the time line set by the Railway Board, a press release of the ECoR stated on Monday.
