Bhubaneswar: About 21 lakh people in Odisha have no Aadhaar cards, sources in the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) said.
According to the UIDAI, out of a total population of 4,63,56,333 eligible for the Aadhaar Card by June 30 this year, 4,44,50,938 people (95.89%) have the Aadhaar card.
The UIDAI further said the Aadhaar card has been provided to 13,88,814 children below 5 years, 97,87,847 in the age group of 5-18 years and 3,32,74,277 persons above 18 years by October 1 this year.
While the highest allotment of Aadhaar card has been made in Nuapada, Kandhamal and Balangir districts, the lowest has been made in Sundargarh district (91.57%).
Among the 30 districts, 93.24 per cent of people in Puri, 93.36 per cent in Sambalpur and 93.62 per cent in Jagatsinghpur have the Aadhaar cards, the UIDAI said.
