21 Patients Succumb To COVID-19 In Bhubaneswar In 24 Hours

Bhubaneswar: As many as 21 patients succumbed to COVID-19 though there was a marginal increase in positive cases in the city in the last 24 hours.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), the number of total deceased due to the disease went up to 837 on Tuesday compared to 816 deaths on Monday.

As many as 223 persons tested positive for the virus during the period against 203 on Monday, 318 on Sunday and 354 on Saturday. Of the new cases registered during the period, 46 were from quarantine and 177 local contacts.

Of the local contact cases, maximum 14 cases were reported from Nayapalli, followed by 9 each from Bharatpur and Patia and 7 each from Khandagiri and Dumduma.
As many as 164 patients recovered from the disease during the period in the city which has 2,595 active cases now while the total cases have gone up to 1,00,607, the BMC stated.
