Bhubaneswar: Creating a festival of festivals in Bhubaneswar during the FIH men’s Hockey world cup, .FEST makes a comeback with its second edition from January 15 to 29.
The cultural festival will have activities in a different sectors including food, entertainment, stories and trails. Prominent musicians, singers, stand-up artists and dancers will perform in the .FEST.
The .FEST will have a slew of celebrities making appearances like Bollywood divas Disha Patani and Divya Kumar during curtain raiser. Renowned dance choreographers like Shiamak Davar and Salman Yousuf would also be taking the stage along with music superstars like Guru Randhawa, Harshdeep Kaur, Neeti Mohan, and Amit Trivedi, who would present enchanting contemporary, classical and Sufi night performances.
The audiences would also get to witness a laughter riot with stand-up comedians Sunil Grover and Shilpa Rao followed with a retro night by popular 90’s singers Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Sukhwinder Singh. A fusion fiesta by Siddhart Mahadevan, ShivamMhadevan, and Shrinidhi would also keep the audiences swaying through the starry night.
“The .FEST is the city festival of the Bhubaneswar where the citizens will celebrate with music, food, trails, exhibitions and much more,” said Bhubaneswar mayor Sulochana Das at a press meet on the festival on Friday.
Balwant Singh, vice-chairman of BDA said, “The .FEST this year is going to be extravagant as it will bring millions together to cherish the cultural tenacity of the state and allow local artists, startups, performers, makers and creators to get an extraordinary platform to showcase their talent.” Vijay Amruta Kulange, Commissioner, BMC and Thirumala Naik, Labour Commissioner-cum-Nodal Officer .FEST were also present.
Providing the experience of a fortnight long festival of festivals, .FEST was first curated in 2018.
