Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested three persons for allegedly producing fake bail bond in a court in Bhubaneswar.
Speaking to media persons on Thursday, ACP Subhransu Sekhar Nayak said one Samir Pattnaik was arrested in connection with a case of property offence amounting to Rs 6 crore filed at Nandankanan police station and forwarded to court.
On hearing his bail petition, the JMFC Court in Bhubaneswar asked Pattnaik to produce property surety bail bond of Rs 3 crore. After he produced the bail bond, the court suspected its authenticity and directed Badagada police to investigate into the documents.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Pattnaik had produced the properties worth Rs 57 lakh as bail bond. Besides, the properties were registered in the name of a deceased person but their documents were produced in the name of a living person in the court.
On the basis of the probe report, the police arrested three persons involved in forgery of property document used for bail bond and forwarded them to court, said the ACP.
