Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has arrested three persons in connection with several snatching cases in Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, the police were on lookout for the gang after the cases of snatching were filed from different parts of the city regularly for the last few months. They got the breakthrough in a particular case that was filed by Manas Mohanty.
Mohanty alleged that the trio came on a black motorcycle while he was on morning walk near Palasuni market on July 24 and snatched his gold chain weighing 11 gram. The gang repeated the crime 3 days after on the night of July 27 when they snatched a mobile phone from a person at Rasulgarh.
On the basis of reliable inputs and tracking, the police arrested the three persons. They are Sk Sonu alias Sk Sahil of Gamadia, Pintan Dalei alias Dipu of Karabar and Sajad Khan of Gopalpur Muslim Sahi.
All the three persons have several cases in different police stations. While Dipu has 12 criminal cases registered against him in Kharvelnagar, Shahidnagar and Banki police stations, Sonu faces 7 cases in Chandaka, Shahidnagar and Badambadi and Sajad Khan has three criminal cases against him in Balianta, Bharatpur, and Capital police stations.
