3 Disciples Arrested In Narendra Giri’s Alleged Suicide Case

New Delhi: A Day after religious body Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad head Narendra Giri allegedly died by suicide in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Police have detained three of his close aides, including one of his top disciples, for questioning.

One of the detainees was Narendra Giri’s closest aide Anand Giri, who was his protégé till they fell out in May. Anand was allegedly kicked out of the priest’s group following accusations of fraud and financial mismanagement.

A few days later there was an apparent patch-up. A video showing Anand Giri seeking forgiveness at the feet of his mentor, but according to police, it was short-lived.

Sandeep Tiwari and Aadya Tiwari — both of whom stayed with Narendra Giri — are also being interrogated.

“We are reading the note. He expressed he was upset. He also wrote what should be done with the ashram after his passing, in the form of a will,” senior Prayagraj police official KP Singh was quoted as saying by NDTV on Monday.
