New Delhi: Three crew members of an Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) went missing on Tuesday after the aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in the Arabian Sea during a rescue operation.
It had to make the landing about 45 km from Porbandar. The aircraft had four crew members on board during the landing. One of them has been recovered from the crash site, but the search for the remaining three member is underway.
It was the same aircraft that had saved 67 lives during cyclonic weather in Gujarat.
The incident occurred around 11 pm on Monday while the helicopter was conducting a medical evacuation for a critically-injured crew member aboard the Indian-flagged Motor Tanker Hari Leela.
It was carrying out the evacuation in response to a request from the vessel’s Master.
