Balasore: Three members of a family sustained critical burn injuries after an LPG cylinder exploded inside a house at Puruna village under Nilagiri police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district on Thursday.
According to sources, the house was severely damaged in the explosion which took place while the family, comprise father, mother and a son, was cooking. Firecrackers kept inside a shop next to the house also caught fire in the mishap.
On being informed, Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames. “The house collapsed under the impact of the blast. The situation worsened as firecrackers were kept inside a bag in the shop,” a firefighter said.
The victims have been admitted to district headquarters hospital for treatment.
