Berhampur: ‘Robo’ is 30-ft tall and weighs 3 tonnes. Its creators, trainees at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Odisha’s Berhampur, claim it’s the tallest e-waste sculpture in the country.
‘Robo’ has been fabricated and designed by trainees of electrician, electronics and painter trade at the institute.
It has been created entirely from electronic waste such as electronic toys, PCB, printer, printer cartridge, RAM, keyboard, mouse, monitor, mobile phones, CD player, TV and VCR, among others.
The e-waste was collected from Berhampur city.
“The creation sends out a message to reconnect with Mother Earth by being responsible and scientifically manage electronic waste,” said Principal Rajat Kumar Panigrahi.
