Bhubaneswar: Odisha will soon have child-friendly police stations in 34 police districts to assist juveniles coming under the purview of law and order.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday ordered establishing such police stations with special signage, plaque and logo, realising the need to provide a conducive environment for them.
These police stations with wall paintings will have special facilities for children, including a library, comprising books, magazines and newspapers, beds, chairs and tables.
The display boards will carry information on the rights of children, do’s and don’ts for the police and contact number of Child Welfare officers.
Toys and first-aid kits will also be kept at these police stations.
