Berhampur: At least 35 persons including children were reportedly injured as the bus carrying them overturned in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
According to sources, around 60 people including women and children from Jajpur had gone on picnic in the bus to Jirang in Gajapati district. From there, they visited the waterfall at Khasada.
While they were returning after Khasada, the bus driver lost control over steering while driving on the ghat road of Taptapani in Ganjam district. The bus overturned on roadside. Fortunately, the picnickers had a narrow escape as the bus did not plunge into the gorge.
The locals came to the rescue of the people and informed police and Fire Brigade. All the passengers were safely brought out of the bus. Those injured in the mishap were admitted to a hospital at Digapahandi. The police have filed a case and started investigation.
