Bhubaneswar: A month after looting 4 closed flats in an apartment in Bhubaneswar, the miscreants have targeted another building complex in the city.

According to sources, three flats in ‘C’ block of Srikshetra Residency at Patrapada located close to Bharatpur police station were looted by the miscreants. The residents of other flats found the main doors of the flats open and their locks broken.

On being informed, a team from Bharatpur police station accompanied by scientific team and dog squad went to the apartment and started investigation. The police questioned the neighbours of the targeted apartment besides 10 workers engaged in an under-construction apartment nearby.

All the three flats in Srikshetra Residency were locked as their owners were away. One of the flat owners, Rajesh Pahadi, in his complaint about the robbery with the police, stated that the miscreants had broken open the locker of his steel almirah and taken away jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh besides Rs 1 lakh in cash.

The footage of CCTV cameras in the ‘C’ block of the apartment revealed that 4-5 miscreants entered with their faces covered. They checked each the door locks of each flat and marked the ones which were locked from outside. After some time, they broke the locks to go inside the flats and decamped with the loot.

It may be noted four flats at Rajvatika Apartment under Infocity police station in the city were looted on October 16. Despite the presence of a security guard and CCTV cameras, the robbers decamped with gold ornaments, cash, and other valuables worth Rs 1 crore.
