Bhubaneswar: As many as four persons were injured as a car was involved in a series of accidents in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
As per reports, the car driver, who was in an inebriated condition, came in a high speed and hit a car, two auto-rickshaws and a two-wheeler in front of the out gate of the Apollo Hospitals in the city at around 3 pm.
The car also went over the footpath after hitting the vehicles. Fortunately, there were no pedestrians on the footpath at the time.
The drivers of all the four vehicles were injured and the vehicles damaged in the accidents. The locals rushed them to the hospital and informed the police. The condition of one of the injured persons was stated to be serious.
The car, which caused the accidents, was reportedly driven by an ICU doctor of the Apollo Hospitals in an intoxicated condition. The locals also caught hold of the doctor and handed him over to police. Several liquor bottles and cigarette packets were also found inside the car, the locals said.
