4 Killed, 9 Critical In Truck-Van Collision In Odisha’s Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: At least four people were killed and nine others critically injured in a collision between a van and a truck in Lakhanpur area of Odisha’s Jharsuguda district on Sunday.

As per preliminary information, the mishap took place on NH-49 near Janiena under the jurisdiction of Lakhanpur police station in the district.

The victims were travelling in the pick-up van when the vehicle collided with the truck on NH 49 near Juniena village in Jharsuguda district in the morning. As many as 13 passengers were there in the van.

While two persons died on the pot, two others succumbed to injuries later at Lakhanpur Community Health Centre (CHC). Others were shifted to district headquarters hospital.

The identity of the deceased and other injured persons remains unclear.

A team of police personnel rushed to the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
