Bhubaneswar: Four persons reportedly died while two others suffered injuries in lightning strikes at separate places across Odisha during the last 24hours.
According to sources, a person died while two others were injured after being struck by lightning at Pansadiha in Anandpur of Keonjhar district early Sunday morning. The critically injured have been admitted to a hospital in Thakurmunda. Similarly, another person was killed in a lightning strike near a jetty at Nairi village under Chilika block.
On Saturday, a 23-year-old Budhu Kisan died in a lightning strike in Kalosihiria area under Kuanrmunda police outpost in Sundargarh district while returning from a nearby market. A 60-year-old man too died after being struck by lightning in Kadapani area of Nuagaon block while returning to his house after collecting vegetables from his farmland. The deceased, identified as Baju Ganju, was a resident of Lukumbeda village in Nuagaon block.
