4 Persons Killed In Lightning Strike In Odisha’s Nuapada District

Nuapada: Four persons including two members of a family were killed and one member was injured as lightning struck them in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Sunday.

According to sources, Tirtha Nag (60) of Malikamunda village under Komna block along with his 23-year-old son Chudamani Nag and two other relatives were engaged in fixing asbestos roof of the stair-case of their house in the afternoon when there was thunderstorm with lightning.

Before the four people could come down, they were struck by lightning. Tirtha’s wife Mithila Nag (56), who was inside the house, sustained injuries in the incident.

All the five persons were rushed to the hospital at Komna. But four persons were declared brought dead by the doctors of the hospital. The two other deceased were identified as Lakshman Nag (28) and Gunasagar Nag (15).
