Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday granted four-week interim bail to Telugu Desam Party chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in connection with the scam in Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation.
He has been granted interim bail until November 24 on grounds of deteriorating health.
Naidu has been lodged in Rajahmundry Central Jail since September 10, a day after he arrest by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) in the multi-crore skill development corporation scam.
On October 18, Naidu’s family members and TDP leaders raised concerns over his health after meeting him at the central prison.
Meanwhile, police have tightened security at Gannavaram International Airport. Krishna district SP Palle Joshua said additional forces were mobilised at Gannavaram Airport, if Naidu arrives at the airport after being released from the central jail. “If the former Chief Minister takes road route, security would be arranged on the National Highway in Krishna district,” he was quoted as saying by The Hindu.
