Bhubaneswar: Amid the ongoing protests over rape-murder of a doctor in Kolkata, an alleged sexual assault case, involving a four-year-old girl, has been reported in Odisha capital.
According to sources, the girl was allegedly raped by her 30-year-old neighbour, who committed the heinous crime after luring her on the pretext of giving chocolates, in a slum under Airfield police limits here on Wednesday.
The survivor was later rescued and admitted to a hospital.
Police have detained the accused youth on basis of a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents. “We have launched a probe into the incident,” informed Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh.
