5.5 Magnitude Earthquake Rocks Kargil; Tremors Felt In North India, Pakistan

Srinagar: An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale rocked Kargil in Ladakh at around 3.48 pm on Monday.

According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km beneath earth’s surface.

Tremors were felt in north India and parts of Pakistan, including Islamabad and other adjacent areas.


Earlier on Monday, an earthquake of magnitude 4.0 had struck Pakistan.
