Bhubaneswar: Heatwave-like condition continued to prevail in Odisha on Sunday when as many as 5 places recorded temperature above 38 degree Celsius.
As per the evening bulletin of the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar on Sunday, Talcher recorded the highest maximum temperature of 38.8 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours. It was followed by Bhubaneswar with 38.4 degree Celsius, Angul 38.1, Jharsuguda 38 and Bhadrak 38 degree Celsius.
The IMD forecast that maximum temperature (day temperature) is likely to be above normal by 2-3 degree Celsius at many places in the state during next 4-5 days. Maximum and minimum temperature is very likely to be around 38 degree and 20 degree Celsius respectively.
On Saturday, eight places in Odisha recorded maximum temperature of 38 degree Celsius and above with Bhubaneswar sizzling at 38.5 degree Celsius.
Earlier in the day, the IMD forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely at one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Sambalpur and Bargarh on Tuesday.
