New Delhi: In a good news for online service providers around 51% consumers of India are likely to shop online during the festival season this year, according to a survey.
According to a survey by ‘LocalCircles’, while only 27% of the consumers had indicated using ecommerce sites for shopping last year, 51% will go for festive shopping this year on e-commerce sites and apps, a news agency reported.
The survey received over 3 lakh responses from over 330 districts of the country. Around 61% consumers indicated that they will engage in festive spending this year, a reduction from 78 per cent in 2019, the survey revealed.
On the willingness to buy from MSMEs, small businesses, emerging brands, weavers and artisans, around 80 per cent said a definite ‘yes’ while only 10 per cent said ‘no’. Around 10 per cent were unsure.
As per the survey, in response to the primary channels for the festive shopping, 26 per cent said e-commerce sites and apps, 11 per cent said they will call local retail stores and get home delivery, 25 per cent said local stores and ecommerce sites, while 24 per cent said they will visit malls, local retailers, and markets.
